Meraki is engineered from the ground up to provide robust, highly available network coverage to large areas.
Advanced features
With Meraki’s wired network extension, you can form a wireless-to-wired bridge, and add a switch to your device. Mesh over wire allows a mesh hop without performance degradation. Each router runs a powerful traffic management and shaping engine, which is controlled by the hosted management system.
Scalable
Setup networks that cover anything from a small building to a large town. Meraki networks scale to thousands of nodes. The Dashboard system allows you to efficiently manage large numbers of users and devices.
Fast failover
Nodes and gateways come and go for a variety of reasons. Meraki detects and recovers from node failures in under a second, ensuring that your network service stays up.
Redundant backhaul
Meraki’s mesh system allows you to have multiple gateways from different vendors. This means you can use any combination of DSL, T1, etc. Your network stays up even if one of your backhaul providers suffers an outage.
Route around interference
Meraki protocols detect and route around interference sources like microwave ovens and portable phones. The mesh routing tables are dynamic and update in seconds.
Reliable performance
Meraki delivers reliable throughput and low-latency over multiple hops. We recommend a maximum of 3-4 wireless hops.
Stand alone mode
Should your network ever be unable to communicate with Meraki’s hosted service, your network will continue to provide basic service to your customers. Network management and user authorization capability resume automatically as soon as the connection is restored.
